Organization Description
The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) supports those impacted by ovarian cancer, funds research, educates the public and health care community and raises awareness. MOCA is a statewide nonprofit organization, founded by a group of survivors in 1999. MOCA has a network of more than 1,000 survivors and 50,000 supporters across the U.S., with a full range of programming. MOCA has provided $12.4 million to ovarian cancer research focused on finding better treatments and an early detection test.

Major recurring events hosted by the organization
The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) hosts our annual Black, White & Teal Gala to celebrate our community and raise vital funds for our mission. MOCA also holds several events to raise awareness during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in September. MOCA's HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer includes a 2K Walk, 5K Run, Kids Fun Run, games, inspirational program and more. MOCA's Light Duluth Teal Gala is also held each September in Duluth, Minnesota.
Major awareness or communications campaigns and/or collaborations your organization is involved in
MOCA partners with the Minnesota Twins to raise awareness of ovarian cancer with thousands of baseball fans at our annual Tie It Teal with the Twins game at Target Field in Minneapolis. MOCA also works with the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Frost to raise awareness of the disease and share resources with fans. During MOCA's Light the Night campaign each September, MOCA works to light buildings, bridges and landmarks in teal across Minnesota to bring attention to our cause.

Volunteer Opportunities
- MOCA volunteers assist at several events including our Black, White & Teal Gala, HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer and our Light Duluth Teal Gala.
- MOCA volunteers raise awareness at several community events and parades each year.
- MOCA survivor volunteers share their personal stories to educate future health care providers at colleges and universities throughout Minnesota.
- Additional opportunities are available for volunteers to package awareness materials throughout the year.
